Denise Horne-Kaplan

This watercolor is one of the first paintings that inspired Denise's favorite body of work, the window series. Her husband, Rich, posed for the bronze statue located just inside the window. Denise, a self-taught professional watercolorist since 1972, has earned numerous awards and membership in art clubs across the U.S. She loves the challenge of painting dramatic light and shadow-play over different surfaces and textures. This, coupled with complex compositions rendered in highly detailed realism, is what makes her work magically intriguing.
