Joan Hooker

A farm near Joan raises a herd of Belted Galloway livestock; creatures of great gentleness and majesty. The artist says, "I was struck by the stark contrast of these black and white animals against the vibrant and variegated colors of an early fall afternoon. I prefer to work on site, hoping to capture in oil the atmosphere of the scene that has caught my eye."
