This red fishing shack, popularly known as "Motif #1," has been immortalized in countless visual mediums since it was constructed more then a century ago. The original structure was destroyed in a storm in 1978, yet was promptly rebuilt as an enduring symbol of New England. Some say the reconstruction was achieved with financial support from a prominent film company—for obvious reasons!
