Stapleton spent time studying the finest Boston School impressionists, whose influence is keenly felt in his depictions of his New England coastal surroundings. Mr. Kearns is a plein air painter, where he absorbs completely the scenes he depicts. In addition to oils, Stapleton has done murals currently on public view.
